Vintage sepia toned 5×8″ photograph, signed by the artist on original mount/mat. Cook was a Chicago based photographer of the late 1920s specialized in images of the female figure. Cook produced at least two portfolios of figure studies communing with nature. Cook’s images are especially well lighted, using early morning or late evening natural light. Cook also used pictoralist lenses and special effects to create a central out-of-focus vortex in many of his images.
