One of a kind, handmade piece. Apparently came to life as a short-scale experiment. There's footage of at least one famous steeler playing this at the Asher booth at a guitar show (can send a link if interested). Along the line the bridge was moved to its current position, putting it at 24”. (Shorter than most Asher models, but longer than many vintage steels)
The first buyer of the guitar changed the bridge from the original cut tele-style one to a Lapdancer Big-Ass lap steel bridge. He also installed a Lollar Imperial pickup. Original pickup is included in sale.
The body is roasted basswood. Very light.
The instrument shows signs of handling (see pics)--it obviously has been played. But no damage, per se. It's a terrific rock/blues/etc machine as it is, or you can continue its destiny as a prototype by modding it to suit you!
My price is less than half the original, so no wiggle room here. Local sales only. No shipping.
I live outside Burlington, but can meet a buyer partway between us at a gas station or retail parking lot to spare you an hour or so round-trip.
